Volitra Plus Gel is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage.

Volitra Plus Gel contains Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed Oil, and Menthol. Diclofenac and methyl salicylate are painkillers that work by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Capsaicin is a natural extract of chilli pepper which works by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Linseed oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties, which inhibit inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes (LK), thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Volitra Plus Gel helps provide relief from mild to moderate pain in various types of musculoskeletal and joint conditions.

Volitra Plus Gel is for external use only. Take a pea-sized amount onto your fingers and apply it to the affected areas. You are advised to use Volitra Plus Gel for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness and burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Volitra Plus Gel may increase the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use Volitra Plus Gel. Volitra Plus Gel increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Volitra Plus Gel is not recommended for children below 14 years as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Volitra Plus Gel may cause ultraviolet light-induced skin tumours. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Volitra Plus Gel unless prescribed.

Volitra Plus Gel is a combination of five drugs: Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed Oil, and Menthol. By blocking the COX enzyme’s effect, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin exerts an analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers of the nerves. Linseed oil helps in reducing inflammation. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Volitra Plus Gel helps in providing relief from pain and inflammation.

Volitra Plus Gel is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area. Apply Volitra Plus Gel directly to the affected area.

Do not use Volitra Plus Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have/had severe heart problems, stomach ulcer or perforation, and bleeding problems such as bleeding from the stomach, intestine or brain, bypass surgery, heart attack, blood circulation problems or inflammation of intestines. Do not use Volitra Plus Gel if you experience asthma, urticaria or allergy after taking a pain killer. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Volitra Plus Gel is not recommended for children below 14 years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. Stop taking Volitra Plus Gel and consult your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools. Do not take any other painkillers for pain relief along with Volitra Plus Gel unless prescribed.

• Exercising regularly helps in muscle stretching so that they are less likely to spasm, tear and sprain. Mild exercises such as jogging and walking are helpful for muscle stretching.

• Massages can also be helpful.

• Avoid freezing and hot temperatures.

• Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes, instead, wear loose garments.

• Rest well, get plenty of sleep.

• To avoid developing pressure sores, change your position at least every two hours.

• Hot or cold therapy can help treat muscle spasms. Apply an ice-pack or hot-pack on the muscle for 15-20minutes.

• Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water.

• Do not apply on open wounds, cuts, abrasions or infected wounds.

• Do not apply any bandages after application of Volitra Plus Gel unless suggested by your doctor.
