FM Derma Ointment 10 gm

FM Derma Ointment contains Fluticasone propionate and mupirocin. FM Derma Ointment is used in the treatment of skin infections. Fluticasone topical is used to reduce inflammation and relieve itching, redness, dryness and scaling associated with various skin conditions, whereas mupirocin kills bacteria by destroying the bacterial cell membrane.

FM Derma Ointment is a combination  of fluticasone dipropionate and mupirocin. Fluticasone propionate blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Mupirocin works by stopping the production of necessary proteins needed for bacterial surveillance. It is also active against Gram-negative organisms such as Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenza. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.

FM Derma Ointment should only be taken if advised by your doctor.  This cream should not be used on children below 2 months of age. FM Derma Ointment should be used for skin only, and accidentally if it gets into your eye, mouth or nose, rinse with water. FM Derma Ointment should be applied to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. FM Derma Ointment should not be applied more than the recommended dose to avoid unpleasant side effects.  Some common side effects of FM Derma Ointment are burning, itching, redness, stinging and dryness on your skin in the place where FM Derma Ointment ointment is applied. Sensitive, allergic reactions (skin hypersensitivity reactions) like rashes, itching, swelling, and shortness of breath can occur in rare cases. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.

Tell your doctor if you are known to be allergic to FM Derma Ointment or any other medicines. It is unknown whether FM Derma Ointment harms the baby or passes into breast milk in pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is better to contact a doctor before using FM Derma Ointment during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. If nursing mothers apply FM Derma Ointment to their breasts or nipple, they should wash the affected area thoroughly before nursing their babies. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.

Treatment of Skin Infections ( Psoriasis, impetigo, eczema).

Do not use this medicine more often or longer than your doctor advises.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Every medicine has some side effects. In the beginning days of the treatment with FM Derma Ointment, you may suffer from burning, itching, redness, stinging and dryness on your skin where FM Derma Ointment ointment is applied might occur. But these would be temporary and may be relieved after some time. However, if you still have discomfort speak with the doctor. Allergic reactions (Cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions) such as rashes, skin dryness, itching, swelling, and shortness of breath can occur in rare cases that are serious and can lead to a life-threatening conditions. Please consult your doctor if an allergic reaction becomes severe.

FM Derma Ointment should be stopped if irritation, severe itching or skin rash occurs. Contact your doctor if no improvement is observed in 3-5 days. FM Derma Ointment should be used with caution in children less than 2 months of age. Prolonged use of FM Derma Ointment may result in the overgrowth of fungi. Rinse with water in case FM Derma Ointment accidentally enters your nose, eyes, or mouth. FM Derma Ointment topical is for use only on the skin. Do not apply on the burnt skin or open cut wound. inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding women before taking FM Derma Ointment.

Drug-Drug Interaction: No drug interactions have been identified with FM Derma Ointment. But inform your doctor if you are taking medicines other than FM Derma Ointment.

Drug-Food Interaction: No food interactions have been identified with FM Derma Ointment.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Use caution in patients with kidney disease or those on dialysis.
