About Brugel Gel

Brugel Gel belongs to the group of painkillers known as NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs). It relieves pain, swelling, and stiffness caused by osteoarthritis (a bone disorder that makes joints painful and stiff), ankylosing spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis (inflammation of the joints). Brugel Gel is also used to reduce back pain.

Brugel Gel contains ‘Flurbiprofen,’ an analgesic (that relieves pain) with anti-inflammatory properties. Brugel Gel inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that further prevent the formation of chemical messengers called ‘prostaglandins’ (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking the COX enzymes’ effect, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.

Brugel Gel is for external use only. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on the severity of your pain. Common side effects of Brugel Gel include skin itching, redness, and swelling at the application site. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine before using Brugel Gel. Inform your doctor if you have any existing disease conditions, including skin problems, before starting Brugel Gel. It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother before using this medicine. Brugel Gel should not be used in children unless prescribed by a doctor based on the child’s age and weight.

Uses of Brugel Gel

Treatment of Pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and back pain

Medicinal Benefits

Brugel Gel contains the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug ‘Flurbiprofen’ (NSAID). It provides relief from pain, swelling, and joint stiffness. It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, preventing the formation of chemical messengers known as ‘prostaglandins’ (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at the site of an injury and cause pain and swelling. By inhibiting the effect of the COX enzymes, fewer PGs are produced, resulting in mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.
