About Cetzine Syrup
Cetzine Syrup is an antihistamine medicine used in the treatment of allergies. It helps provide relief from various allergic reactions in children. An allergic reaction is a response that occurs when the foreign particles enter the body. This allergic reaction may vary from person to person. Cetzine Syrup is used to treat allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria (swelling, redness, and itchiness of the skin).
Cetzine Syrup which is an anti-allergic medicine works by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger called ‘histamine. This chemical messenger is naturally involved in allergic reactions. Cetirizine helps to relieve discomfort and unpleasant symptoms, like blocked/runny/itchy nose, red/watery eyes, and skin rashes that occur due to allergic conditions.
Cetzine Syrup may cause certain side effects such as abdominal pain, headache, cold-like nose symptoms, or diarrhoea. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or bother your child, please consult your paediatrician. Cetzine Syrup should be given as advised by your paediatrician. Do not give more than the prescribed dose of to the child. Cetzine Syrup can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your paediatrician depending on the type and severity of the infection.
Cetzine Syrup is intended for pediatric use only. Avoid giving Cetzine Syrup to your child if she/he is allergic to it. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition including ongoing medications and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your child’s doctor about liver and kidney disease. Cetzine Syrup is not recommended for use in children below six months of age as its safety and efficacy are not established.
